LODGE MEETING.
STAR OF ASHBURTON. The half-yearly meeting of the Star of Ashburton Lodge, No. 14, U.A.O.D. was held last evening. Bro. P. G. Morrison A.D. presiding over a good attendance. The Bards reported on sick members, and sick pay was passed in favour oi 12 members who are on the funds. Two members were initiated and 14 proposed for membership. The sylabus for 1938-39 was submitted and approved. An invitation to attend the installation of officers of the Success of Ashburton Lodge next Monday was accepted. The D.P. Sister T. Eyles advised that she would be installing the officers of the Lodge on December 13. It was decided to invite the Success of Ashburton, Lily of Temuka, and Timaru Lodges to be present at this meeting. It was decided to make a grant of £5 towards the delegates’ expenses v. ihile attending the Grand Lodge Session at Timaru. The following officers were elected: — A.D.,8r0. P. G. Morrison; V.A.D., Bro. J. Filield; secretary, Mr G. V. Furby; treasurer, Bro. A. I. Garriock; minutes secretary, Bro. H. A. Vesty; A.D. Bards, Bros. T. A. Miler and P. O’Connor; inside guardian, Bro. E. S. Furby; outside guardian, Bro. R. Hardwick; V.A. Bards, Bros. D. Bloomfield, R. Stephen; auditor, Bro. H. A. Vesty; trustee, Bro. P. O’Connor; Grand Lodge representatives, Bros. P. G. Morrison, S. L. Hawke and R. T. Lattirner; substitute representative, Bro. E. Parkin; U.F.S. Association delegates, Bros. E. Parkin, S. Hawke and G. V. Furby; Ii.F.S. Dispensary delegate, G. V. Furby. Bro. R. T. Lattirner was nominated as District President for No. 8 District.
