FLIGHT TO AUSTRALIA.

AIR FORCE ’PLANES. UNDERTAKING NEST MONTH. LONDON, November 16. Five Royal Air Force flying-boats will leave Plymouth for Australia early in December. They will fly by way of the Persian Gulf to Karachi, Burma, Malaya; the Dutch East Indies to Darwin, and visit each Australian State capital When they return to England in the spring they will have covered 25,000 nautical miles, the longest formation flight ever undertaken by a Service unit.

The flying-boats a.re of the SaundersRoe London type, all-metal, and designed, for coastal patrol or open-sea duty. Each weighs nearly 10 tons and carries a crew of five.

Wing-Commander Kenneth Lloyd will lead the formation.
