TOLL OF GAME.
PHOSPHORATED POISON. (Per Press WELLINGTON, October 22. The opinion, held by many game spokesmen, that phosphorated poison used extensively in some parts of New Zealand to kill rabbits had taken considerable toll of game and other birds, was supported by the Hon. AY. E. Parry, when interviewed to-day. The laying of rabbit poison was one of the problems which the game branch of the Department of Internal Affairs had to face,” said the Minister, “and Departmental officers have made a special investigation of the areas in which birds were to be liberated and selected areas where birds would receive every protection from sympathetic property - holders where there would be no rabbit poison.”
