CO-OPERATION URGED.
FRIENDLY SOCIETY DISPENSARIES, (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, February 25. Tlie hope that friendly society dispensaries throughout New Zealand would keep in close touch with one another and generally co-operate for the benefit of the friendly societies’ movement was expressed at the second annual conference of the New Zealand United Friendly Societies’ Dispensaries. A resolution approving of the Pharmacy Board’s raising the standard of examinations was passed, but it was decided to recommend that the standard ho made not so high as to compel students to attend for any given time at the School of Pharmacy.
Several delegates expressed the view that the new drug tariffs would mean serious losses to pharmacies if they were continued indefinitely. However, they should he given a fair trial.
Delegates stated that their respective societies were willing to co-oper-ate wholeheartedly with the Government in its proposal for national health insurance.
