WRESTLING.
McCREADY BEATS BLOMFIELD. WELLINGTON, November 9. Seventy-five minutes’ solid strenuous wrestling at tho Wellington Town Hall to-night ended in Earl McCready again establishing supremacy over Lofty Blomfield, whom he beat by a single fall. Blomfield throughout the match strove vainly to apply his fatal octopus clamp, but each time McCready throw him off his balance. In such an episode in the seventh round McCready countered with a hammerlock, to which Blomfield submitted. The match was watched by a. crowd that filled the house. WALKER AND BAUMANN DRAW. AUCKLAND, November 9. After a successful season in Australia, the Auckland heavy-weight wrestler George Walker, lost 51b, made a 1 reappearance to-night, when he drew with George Baumann (Germany), 15st 111 b, each man securing one fall. As a spectacle the contest was disappointing, there being frequent periods of inactivity. Both wrestlers were strong and heavy, but slowness and a scarcity of more spectacular holds and methods of attack marred the bout.
