A REQUEST FOR RELIEF. WAIROA, Sept. 7. The meeting decided to write to the Minister for Internal Affairs (the Hon. W. E. Parry) asking that the smaller clubs be given some relief, and suggesting that the position might be met by the adoption of the system that in cases where £IO,OOO or less is put through the totalisator, the first £SOOO be free of taxation.
