TWO DEATHS.

LIGHTNING IN LONDON. MR M. MACDONALD’S EXPERIENCE. (United Press Association—Copyright.) LONDON, Sept. 5. Local storms of unusual severity occurred in Northern Scotland. During one of these, near Dingwall, Mr Malcolm MacDonald (Secretary for the Dominions) and tlio driver of the car in which he was travelling were temporarily blinded by a Hash of lightning, which put the ignition of the car out of order and caused a dangerous skid. Skilful handling prevented the car overturning, and Mr MacDonald and the chauffeur were able to effect repairs.

A severe storm also raged over Central London for several hours this afternoon. Two visitors to London sheltering under a tree in St. James Park, near Buckingham Palace, were struck by lightning and killed. —British Official Wireless.
