New Zealand Baconer Pigs—Continue firm owing to short spot stocks.

RETAIL PRICES IN LONDON. The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board has been advised by its London manager that the following retail prices were quoted for New Zealand lamb and mutton retailed in London during August. These prices represent a fair average of the prices quoted by the better class shops for best quality: Lamb—Legs 12d per lb, shoulders lid, loins lid, necks 6d, breasts 3d, forequarters 83d, hindquarters 113 d. Mutton (wethers)— Legs 9d per lb, shoulders Bd, loins Bd, necks 4d, breasts 2d.

Butter. New Zealand—Salted 114 sto 115 s (118 s to 120 s last week), equals approximately 13.6 d f.0.b.; unsalted 114 sto 116 s (119 s to 120 s). The market was dull throughout the week, but steadier to-day (September 4) - Argentine—Unsalted 106 s to 108 s. Danish—lo7s f.0.b., 128 s spot. Dutch—Unsalted 105 s to 112 s. Esthonian—Unsalted 108 s. Siberian —Salted 108 s to 110 s. Ukranian—Salted 110 s.

Polish—Salted 100 s to 104 s; unsalted 100 s to 103 s. Market quiet. Retail prices unchanged. Danish Is 4d, New Zealand Is 3d. Cheese. New Zealand—White 69s 6di to 70s 6d (7.92 d f.0.b.), 70s to 71s; coloured 67s to 68s (67s to 68s) 7.62 d f.o.b. Market slightly steadier at close. Retail price unchanged, Bd. Canadian—White and coloured 71s to 725; old season’s, white 80s, coloured 80s; c.i.f., 70s. English—Finest farmers’ 76s to 80s, factory ,66s to 68s. Market steady. The board has also received the following advice from its agents in Canada: Butter, New York 353 cents, Montreal 25 cents.
