BARCELONA COMMUNIST CRIME. MOORISH PRISONERS’ COMPLAINT. (Received This Da}", 9.35 a.m.) LONDON, August 23. It is reported from Biurgos that Communists at Barcelona murdered Car-dinal-Archbishop Barraquer. The Government claims to have routed a rebel column at Medellin, including foreign legionaries and Moors. The British United Press correspondent at Navalperal says that Colonel Mangana’is workers’ militia defeated the rebels on the mountain front north of Madrid. Moorish prisoners state that 509 Moors formed the advance guard. They complained that the officers forced them to lead the attack, shooting any who showed signs of vacillation. They also told them that the opposing militia were armed only with picks and shovels. FIVE BISHOPS KILLED. VATICAN CITY CONFIRMS NEWS. ROME, August 22. The Vatican announces confirmation of the news that the Bishops of Jaen, Lerida, Segovia, Siguenza, and Barbastro lost their lives after the outbreak of hostilities. JESUITS REINSTATED. LONDON, August 22. A report from Burgos says that the Parliament of Navarre has decided to authorise) the return of Jesuits who were expelled in 1931. All their property will be restored to them.
