Although Canterbury defeated the touring Manawatu team by 22 points to 9 to-day, the performance of the home team was far from convincing, and with two-thirds of the game gone Manawatu was extremely unlucky not to have a useful lead. The Nomads Club is one of tho strongest teams in Christchurch and tho local side will get a good sample of the standard of Jootball that they will, experience in tho English Cup Competition. The Ashburton team will be a strong side and although F. W. Cutler will be missing from the goal, the team will be quite up to Cup standard.
