ELECTRIC SUPPLY

A COMPLICATED PROBLEM. NATIONALISATION OF CONTROL. MINISTER’S PERSONAL VIEWS. (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The question of tlie future control of the supply of electric power in the Dominion has not yet been investiby the but the Minister of Public Works (the Hon. R. Seir.ple) said to-day that after taking a hurried look at the position he was satisfied that complete State control was the only solution. ‘ Mr Semple made it clear that he was expressing only his personal opinion. The question had never been before Cabinet, and he had not yet had time to look into the position thoroughly. During the next Parliamentary recess be intended to make a thorough investigation into every aspect of the sale of electric power. He recognised that it was a very complicated problem. The position at present was terribly involved. It should be possible to do something better than what was done at present, and his personal view was that the real solution was nationalisation.
