STILL DELAYED
LINER KENT AT NAPIER. NO LABOUR OFFERS FOR CARGO. (Per Press Association.) NAPIER, July 17. No agreement has yet been reached in the Napier watersiders’ dispute. Shipping activities remain at a standstill, the Federal liner Kent being at anchor in the roadsted waitiing to load frozen meat and general cargo for London and the west coast of England, 'filer departure on Monday for London direct is likely to be postponed. It is understood that negotiations are in progress between representatives of the employers and the Watersiders’ federation, with a view to arriving at some settlement, but no definite advice has been received as. to whether anything has been accomplished. The workers are demanding to be paid for three hours’ time last Tuesday." Two calls tor labour were made this morning, but as the watersiders received no statement from the employers, the calls remained unanswered. THE KAIRANGA AT AUCKLAND. AUCKLAND, July 17. The Union Company's steamer Kairanga was further delayed to-night owing to the waterside workers again refusing to work overtime shovelling gypsum into the centre of the holds, from where it could be lifted ashore by grabs.
