LODGE MEETINGS.
ANCIENT ORDER OF DRUIDS. The fortnightly meeting of the Star of Ashburton Lodge, U.A.0.D., was held last evening, Bro._ A. 0. Vincent, A.D., presiding. . The Bards reported on sick members and sicik pay was passed. Invitations to attend a. games evening next Mom-day night at the Success of Ashburton Lodge and a card match with the Hakatere Lodge on June 24, were accepted. Two candidates were initiated and one pro-posed. The AD". reported on the visit paid to the Lil; of Temuka, Lodge on June 8. Bro. h. A, Vesty was appointed to represent the lodge at the meeting convened by the St. Stephen’s Literary amd Social Club next \Vednesday to consider arranging debating contests between local organisations. It was decided to hold community singing next lodge night. After the lodge closed a. social hour was spent in cards and table tennis. _
COURT ASHBURTON MEETS. Court Ashburton, A.D.F., met last eveming, the Chief Ranger (Bro. R. B. Barnett) presiding over a. large attendance. Sick pay amounting to £5 13s 4d was pass-ed for payment in favour of six members. Two- complimentary tickets for the United Friendly Societies’ annual ‘ball to. be held at Rakaia on J unev 18, were received. ( The election of officers for the ensuing term resultcd:—C.R., Bro. C. L. Olds; 5.0. R., Bro. A. P. Rattray ; S.W. W 01". Bro. C. J. Bax; J.W., Wor. Bro. J. E. Meaelem; 8.13., Bro. Ingram: J .8., W-or. Bro. Rogers. It was decided to record. the Court’s appreciation of \Vor. Bro. Choak’s valuable services as hospital sick visitor. Two candidates were proposed and accepted for admission into the Order. Quarterly accounts amounting to £156 55 were passed for payment.
