PERSONAL.
At the annual meeting of the Ashburton Guild of the British Sailors’ Society yesterday afternoon, a motion of sympathy was passed with Mrs Copland, gem, in the death of her son, and with the relatives of Mrs C. \V. Baker and Miss Fechney'.
Mr 0. Morgan Williams, M.P., was in Ashburton- to-day conferring with Mr \V. H. Stevens, consulting engineer, regarding water supply and sewer drainage proposals for the Kilia—p_oi Borough. While in Ashburton he was conducted over the drainage works in progress in Hampstead.
Bliss ‘C'. Tyndall, who has left Ashburtou for \Vellingtom, was presented with a xylonite set by Mrs R. S, \Vat—son (vice-president) on behalf of mem—bers of the Ashburton Basketball Association. Miss Tyndall, who-‘was for—merly both secretary and president of the association, and. a referee, thanked executive members fur the manner they had c-o-operated with her during her terms of office.
