RIFLE SHOOTING.
WELLINGTON CHAMPIONSHIPS. WELLINGTON, March 12. Perfett weather, with a light fishtail breeze from the rear, was experienced for the rifle shooting meeting held by the Wellington Rifle Association at Trentham to-day. With only 28 competitors in the service practices and 25 entries for other matches, a drastic modification of the original programme was necessary. Wellington championship results: — £5 and W. H. Tisdall trophy, R. H. Nicholl (Petone), 239; £4 and Mr Alexander Dunn’s trophy, F. H. Sharland (Nelson), 237; £2 each, W. H. West (Blenheim) 237, E. M. Wrigley (Opaki) 236; £1 each, W. J.
