CYCLIST KILLED IN COLLISION. (Per Press Association.) MASTERTON, March 6. A motor-cyclist, Mr AVilliam John Steele, aged 24, employed at Orui station, Riversdale, was killed outright tonight, when lie collided with a car on Blairlogie Hill, 17 miles from Masterton. A pillion-rider, Mr Sullivan, employed at Riversdale station, received facial injuries and shock, and, was admitted to the Masterton Hospital. The car was driven by Mr Patrick Hugh Scanlan, of Fordell. It is believed Mr Steele came from Dannevirke. KILLED BY CAPSIZED DRAY. DUNEDIN, March 6. Mr Andrew Melville, aged 33, a farmer, of the Milton district, was killed instantly on Thursday evening when a dray he was driving capsized and fell over a six-foot embankment. Mr Melville had been assisting a neighbouring farmer with his harvest, and was returning home when a pair of horses attached to the dray swerved to the side of the road, when going down an incline, causing the vehicle to capsize. Mr Melville’s neck was broken.
