CANTERBURY COLLECE HOLDERS (Special to the “ Guardian.”) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The following scholarships and bursaries were awarded on the recommendation of the professorial board by the Canterbury College Council yesterday: Helen Macmillan Brown bursaryJean R. Edyvean ('Nelson Girls’ College). Robert Bell scholarship (journalism) —Una H. Sheppard (Palmerston North Girls’ High School). Lissie Rathbone scholarship—Henrietta M. Palmer (Christchurch Girls’ High School). On the recommendation of the College Committee, the council awarded a Workers’ Educational Association bursary to Mr J. C. Bremner, and extended that of Mr G. J. Garner for another year. VETERINARY STUDENTS. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Three veterinary scholarships under the Government’s new scheme for assisting students of veterinary science have been awarded to Messrs J. W. McLean, M.Agric.iS. (animal husbandry), M. C. Armstrong, B.Agr.S., and W. D. Robinson, of the Canterbury Agricultural College, Lincoln. These are three of five scholarships wdiich the Government has decided to award this year. They are worth £IOO a year for four years, and enable the students to study at the Sydney Veterinary College for either three or four years, after which they will return to Die Dominion and serve for at least five years with the New Zealand Government.
