WOMEN’S MATCH. WELLINGTON BEATS AUCKLAND, tf (Per Press Association). AUCKLAND, February 17. The women’s cricket match between Auckland and Wellington concluded to-day, Wellington gaining an outright victory by ten wickets. In reply to Auckland’s first innings score of 69, Wellington made 150. Auckland, in the second inning, made 102. Wellington scored the needed 22 runs without loss. ASHBURTON v. WEST COAST. The New Zealand Cricket Council has received advice from Duleepsinhji, the famous Indian and English test cricketer, that the . Maharajah of Mawanagar “will be delighted to bring an Indian team to New Zealand next year” for a short tour, at his own expense. It is stated that the Maharajah and Duleepsinhji will both be members of the team, which will be “quite a gooc£ one,” containing also perhaps an English professional engaged in Mawanagar. This information was received at a meeting of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Cricket Council this evening, when it was decided to ad .vise his Highness the Maharajah of Nawanagar that New Zealand cricketers would give a warm Avelcome to any Indian team visiting this country.
