(From Our Own Correspondents.) RAKAIA. At the monthly meeting of the Rakaia School Committee, the chairman (Mr H. J. Conway) presided. Messrs Conway, A. C. Nice! and R. Breach were 'appointed to make the necessary arrangements for a concert. Messrs Conway and A. Allan were appointed trustees of the school’s savings account. The headmaster reported that the roll number was 124, and that six new' pupils were admitted. It was decided to employ a man to scythe the school lawns. MOUNT SOMERS, To celebrate the anniversary of their silver wedding, Mr and Mrs J. Grieve, “Evandale,” Mount Somers, entertained a number of their friends at a party at their residence recently. Mr and. Mrs Grieve were married at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Papanui, by the Rey. E. H. Shore. Miss H. Wightman presented Mrs Grieve with a bouquet and Mr Grieve with a buttonhole. The wedding cake was made and presented by Mrs J. W. Riley. A happy time was passed with musical items, dancing and competitions, and songs were contributed by Mr W. J. Hood. On behalf of those present Mr J. Mclver made a presentation to Mr an,d Mrs Grieve, and wished them continued health, happiness and success.
