NOT FOR SALE

MR BORTHWICK DENIES RUMOUR (Per Press Association). MASTERTON, February 5. Rumours that the well-known meat export firm of Borthwick and Sons (Ausjjnfeia), Ltd., had sold out to the Co-operative Wholesale Society were said by Mr P. J. Borthwick, director of the firm, to be “all rot.” Lately, rumours of the alleged sale have persisted in usually well-informed circles in Wairarapa and Wellington. When questioned, Mr Borthwick emphatically denied that there was the slightest tincture of truth in the statements that his firm had sold out. “There is nothing in the rumours at all,” he said. “I do not know their origin, hut I can tell you this, and yon can quote me on it, that as long as there is a Borthwick alive our business is definitely not for salo.”
