Wilhelm Gustloff, a German subject and leader of the Swiss Nazis, was assassinated at his home at Davos. lie was struck by five bullets. , The alleged assassin, David Frankfurter, a Jugoslavian medical student, aged 24, surrendered to the police, stating that he broke into Gust--1 off’s home and committed the murder because of bis hatred of the Nazis. Swiss Socialists repeatedly asked ±or the expulsion of Gustloff, alleging tlia he was not only a Nazi leader but. an a cent provocateur. He formerly published in Switzerland a German paper, which was suppressed in retaliation for the German ban cn certain Swiss newsThe police state that Frankfurter went to Gustloff’s house explaining that he wanted to discuss important business. Frau Gustloff showed him into the drawing-room, where her husband was shot immediately he entered. Frankfurter says he is not a Communist, and committed the murder on his own initiative.
