EX-SOLDIERS’ ORGANISATIONS. THEIR FUNDS CONFISCATED. STAMPING OUT DISCONTENT. (United Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.35 a.m.) LONDON, February 3. • The Berlin correspondent of the “News-Chronicle” says that, striking at the large body of reckless, adventurous ex-soldiers njhose opposition to Nazism is notorious, the Minister of the Interior (Dr. Frick) closed branches throughout Germany of “The Free Corps,” also “The Baltic Fighters,” and dissolved “The German Post-war Front.” This action, following Herr Hitler’s decree empowering the military to shoot in the event of disorders, shows that the Government is determined to stamp out discontent. Nazi guards occupied the premises or the banned organisations and confiscated their funds.

ECONOMIC DIFFICULTIES. PAYING FOR NEEDED IMPORTS. (Received This Day, 11.35 a.m.) LONDON, February 3. The Berlin correspondent of the “News-Chronicle” states that the mouthpiece of Dr. Schacht (ActingMinister or Economy) a weekly economic journal, “Deutsihe Volksvirt, draws attention to the graye exchange situation, stating that it is doubtful whether Germany’s exports will suffice .to pay for the foreign goods necessary to political and economic stability.
