COUNTY CENTRES

(From Our Own Correspondents.) MAYFIELD. The ladies of the Presbyterian Church congregation and friends met in the manse grounds on Thursday afternoon to do honour to Miss Mona Riley, who has been organist for some time, and Miss. Glenie Sewell, both of whom are shortly to be married. Bouquets were presented to them by Mrs Corbett and Mrs Brown. On behalf of the congregation Mrs L. Mcllroy presented Miss Riley with a brass firescreen and candlestick, in token of the esteem in which she is held and for lier services so willingly given. Miss Sewell was presented with" an oak hook trough. The recipients were accorded musical honours. Competitions caused much amusement, the winners being:—Drawing: Mrs T. Taylor. Hidden names: Mrs Hoed. Clock golf: Miss B. Morrow 1, Mrs G. Meikle 2. A dainty tea was served under the trees.
