MITCHAM
The Mitcham-Rokeby branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union celebrated its second birthday in the form of a garden party last month, at Mrs W. residence, Mitcham. There was a large gathering of members and friends. The weather was ideal. Games were played. Afternoon tea was served under a shady tree. Mrs AY. Penny, who made and iced the cake, lit the candles. Mrs Johnson, president of the MidCanterbury Executive) cut the cake. Mrs V. Wilkinson (branch president) was presented with a posy. Mr V. Wilkinson (president of the Lauriston branch of the Farmers'Union) presented the prizes for most points as follow: Mrs Penny 1, Mrs Doig 2, Mrs Wilkinson 3. He was presented with a vegetable posy_by Mrs B. Ziegler.
