WRIT WITHDRAWN.
KLAVEREN SIGNS CONTRACT.
(United Press Association— Copyright.) SYDNEY, Jan. 14. The Dutch boxer, Bep van Klaveren, signed an agreement with Mr Charles Lucas, the boxing promoter, to take part in two further contests before March 8. An order has consequently been filed for the discontinuance of the writ issued last Wednesday. Mr Lucas said, "I am satisfied that our hitch was due to a misunderstanding. Klaveren and I are the best of friends." It is announced that charity will receive £6OO from the fight on the sports ground on December 26. Another contest under Identical conditions has been authorised.
On January 8 a writ of care was issued against Klaveren, on the application of Charles Lucas. The application followed a writ issued by Lucas against Klaveren for £2OOO for alleged breach of contract. Klaveren was escorted ashore from the Mariposa, on which he was alleged to be leaving for the United States.
