ROSS-CROMARTY SEAT.

MR M. MacDONALD OPPOSED. PROTEST BY CONSERVATIVES. (United Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, January 13. The executive of the Ross-Cromarty Conservatives' Association telegraphed to Mr Stanley Baldwin declaring his support of Miv Malcolm MacDonald astonishing and regrettable, challenging the whole democratic structure of the party. They added that they expected Mr Baldwin loyally to support the executive when it resisted pressure by headquarters to accept a nonConservative.

Pipers escorted Mr MacDonald to his meeting, where he was cordially received, his supporters including MrMorrison (Financial Secretary to the Treasury) and Sir William Martinlan (ex-chairman of the Conservatives) and Captain Shaw MacKenzie.

Another member of the committee resigned to-night. A crowd howled down Mr Randolph Churchill when he attacked Mr MacDonald from an hotel balcony.
