While taking measurements fox- the installation of new equipment at the Wairere Falls powerhouse, Mr brands Rosengrave Harvey, a married man, a rr e d SO, was electrocuted. Mr Harvey was standing behind the guard rad when his assistant, Mr H'Uia Bonding ton, saw him suddenly collapse. He was taken outside, but application or methods of resuscitation was unavailing. It is surmised that a folding boxwood rule Mr Harvey was using made contact with the electrified portion of the machine, while his left hand, grasping the guard rail, effectively earthed him. FATAL WOUND IN THE HEAD. HOTEL PROPRIETOR’S DEATH.
HAMILTON, January 9. Mr R, J. Wilson, aged 65, proprietor of the Central Hotel, Tutaruru, who was found by his wife shot in the lieau early on Monday morning, died in the Waikato Hospital this morning. Mr Wilson had been married only a week* He was seen by his wife walking from his office across to the bedroom, carrying a rifle and bleeding from a wound in the forehead. MAN FEARED DROWNED. NEW PLYMOUTH, Jan. 9. A search made when Owen Sherwood, aged 21, second refrigerating engineer of the Fort A.delaTde, failed to answer the calling of the ship s roll before her departure for Auckland revealed a possible drowning accident. The only trace of the missing man, found at a late hour to-night, was his discarded clothes lying on a beach. Sherwood left the vessel about 10.30 a.m. with the intention of swimming in the harbour. He was seen doing so, but has not been heard of afterwards.
