PERSONAL.
Mr T. B. Haydon, of Invercargill, and formerly headmaster of the Ashburton Borough School, and Mrs Hayden, are enjoying a visit to Ashburton. Dr. O. H. Frankel, plant geneticist of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, returned to Christchurch yesterday after an absence of eight months on a trip to England .and the Continent. Seven Ministers of the Crown took flights with either Mr G. L. Stedman or Mr W. O’Hara at Rongotai airport (Wellington) yesterday. Those who went aloft were the Hon. H. T. Armstrong, ..the Hon. .1). G. Sullivan, the Hon. F. Jones, the Hen. H. G. R. Mason, the Hon. P. C. Webb, the Hon. F. Lnngstone, and the Hon. W. Lee Martin. The flights were held under the auspices of the Aero Club and_ the Returned Soldiers’ Association.
