MOTOR-CYCLING.

THE ASHBURTON CLUB. HALF-YEARLY PROGRAMME. The monthly meeting of the Ashburton Motor-Cycle Club was held last evening, Mr J. R. Leask being chairman. Mr Leask reported on the meeting with the committee of the Mount Somers carnival which is to be held on January 18. It was decided to combine with the Mount Somers committee

in running the gala, and to put on seven motor-cycle events. The arrangements were left in the hands of Messrs R. Chambers and R. Amos. . ’ It was decided to leave the organising of the inter-club rally in the hands of the sports committee. Tue results of the Scott Scramble held at Leddy’s Crossing were posted, and points for the Freddy and Speedwell cups were allotted as follow: — Speedwell Cup—E. Smith 41, RChambers 43, A. Weir 19, T. H. Farley 14. Freddy Cup—Chambers 53, Weir 21. The half-yearly programme was drawn up as follows: — February 2 —lnter-club rally. February 23 —Run to Mr G. Bland's property, Mount Somers. March 15—Road hill climb championships. April 5 —Reliability trial. April 26—Run to Rakaia Gorge. May ]()—Combined run to Peel Forest with South Canterbury Motorcycle Club-. May 24—Hill climb and sports events at Hakatere. June 14—Run to Mr H. Brown’s property, Seaview.
