TRADE IN IRAQ.
TEXTILES FROM JAPAN. (United Press Association —Copyright.) LONDON, January 1. Japanese competition in Iraq is emphasised in a report by the British Commercial Secretary in Bagdad, reviewing trade from 1933 to 1935. He says competition is most severe in textiles, in which Japan has captured 75 per cent, of the market. The competition however, is rapidly extending to other commodities. British goods are of high quality but are affected by the price discrepancy.
