“MISUSE OF THE RED CROSS." AIRMEN”S VIEW OF HOSPITAL. (United Press Association—Copyright.) LONDON, The Rome correspondent of “The Times” says no information is available about the bombing, though official circles admit knowledge of the report. It is worthwhile, in the circumstances, to recall a message from Mogadiscio on December 27 to the newspaper “Messagero,” by Arnoldo Cipolla, stating that Italian airmen had recognised, near the river Ganale Dorya, numerous large tents of a Swedish hospital, easily distinguishable by flags spread out on the ground and large Red Crosses on the tents. Europeans who formed part of the ambulance staff, at the sight of the Italian ’planes, waved Swedish flags to attract the attention of the pilots with such insistence as to arouse suspicion that the hospital was make-belief, and that the tents housed European officers who are advising Ras Desta and leading his army.
