Imperial Airways state that since the last accident to one of their liners, involving a fatality, which occurred in 1933 their aircraft have flown 6,750,000 miles and carried 129,000 passengers. A message from Alexandria states that the bodies of two passengers of the City of Khartoum have been recovered. Members of the rescuing crew say that Captain Wilson was about at his last gasp when he was picked up. Captain Wilson said that all three engines stopped within three seconds, then the crash occurred. Three passengers managed to struggle clear of the cabin but disappeared. These details were given reservedly. No one has been allowed to interview Captain Wilson who has been taken aboard the hospital ship, Maine.
