CHRISTCHURCH AMATEUR TITLE RETAINED BY O. J. WARD. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. C. J. Ward retained the Christchurch amateur golf championship at Shirley yesterday, with J. L. Blair second and A. A. Boon third. Ward returned a card of 74 for the morning round and one of 76 for the afternoon, his total of 150 being five better than that of Blair, who took 77 in the morning and 78 in the afternoon, a total of 155. Boon’s cards were 77 and 79, making a total of 156. W. P. Anderson (Ashburton) took 165 (77 andrßß). In the morning stroke handicap Anderson (handicap 6) was third with 77-6-71.
