ONCE THOUGHT TRIVIAL. BADGES FOR POSTMEN. LONDON, December 16. Commenting on the employment of artists for work once considered trivial, the “Manchester Guardian” points out that Mr Eric Gill, tho sculptor, designed the new badges for postmen’s lints, Sir Giles Scott, architect of the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral, designed tho telephone cabinets, Mr Charles Holden, architect of tho now London University, is re-designing tube stations, and Miss Phoebe Sadler is designing the mascots for the London motor-bus radiators.
