A WOMAN ACCUSED

ALLEGED ATTEMPTED MURDER. DEAD BABY IN HER ARMS. (Per Press Association). DUNEDIN, This Day. In the Police Court to-day, Cecily Fitzmaurice, aged 35, was charged with attempted murder of her childi at Oamaru on September 10. Accused was found in bed with her three children. Two of the children were in a weak state and the baby, which was clasped in her arms, was dead. Accused herself was in a very low condition and hardly able to utter a word. Her husband was working at Hillgrove and neighbours became anxious when they saw nothing of Mrs Fitzmaurice and investigated. The doors Avere locked and entry was made through a window. Accused was remanded for a week.
