PERRY’S BACK MUSCLES TORN. SYDNEY, November 7. F. J. Perry was X-rayed, and the photographs revealed that tho niuscles of his back are badly torn. His doctors have ordered a complete rest. Perry is bitterly disappointed, and intends to keep his tennis engagements here, even if lie is compelled to play below his usual standard;.

NEW ZEALAND WOMEN WIN. MATCH AGAINST N.S.W. TEAM. SYDNEY, November 7. The New Zealand women’s tennis team played a further match against a New South Wales hard-court team at Rockdale to-day, and won. Results: — Singles. Miss Prior (New South Wales) beat Miss I. Poole, 9-7, 11-9. Miss Eldridge (N.S.W.) v. Miss E. Rudkin, 7-5, 4-6. Mrs J3ree (N.S.W.) beat Miss T. Poole, 6-2, 6-4. , Miss Stebbing (N.S.W.) lost to Miss D. Nicliolls, 3-6, 2-6. Miss Bruce (N.S.W.) v. Miss Beverley, 6-2, 3-6. Mrs Humphries (N.S.W.) v. Miss D. Miller, 1-6, 9-7. Doubles.
