In the midst of a vigorous general election campaign, leading members of all parties were represented at a great non-party peace meeting. Six thousand people attended the League of Nations Union meeting at the Albert Hall. '
The presence on one platform, just before the general election, of representatives of all three parties was referred to by the Archbishop of Canterbury (the Most Rey. Dr. Cosmo G. Lang), who occupied the chair, as being an event of almost unprecedented significance., He directed the attention of Governments throughout the world to this demonstration of national unity on the issues now before the League. The meeting unanimously (pledged support of the League in measures it deemed to be necessary to maintain the provisions of the Covenant by collective security.—British Official Wireless.
