Immediately Sir Hoare arrived at Geneva he conferred with Mr Eden. Later both visited M. Laval. It is understood that they insisted on the early operation of sanctions, whatever steps are taken to continue the peace discussions. Political opinion in Italy, simultaneouslv hardening, is unanimous not to yield "to intimidation.
