A six-year-old girl who had to give evidence during a trial in the Auckland Supreme Court last week had her ordeal lessened at tlie outset (states the “New Zealand Herald”). When the child entered the Court with a police matron, Mr Justice Callan, removing his wig, invited the girl up to the Bench. The child stood at his .Honor’s knee and was told by him why she should speak the truth.
