The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries states that the director of the Bureau (Mr Shimoda) recently surveyed North-West Australian waters. Ho reported that they are ten times richer than Tokkaido waters, especially in sea bream, Japan’s most popular fish. He recommended exploitation, for which a trawler will shortly proceed on a trial voyage.
