GIFT FROM CITY OF LONDON.
LONDON, October 29
The Lord Mayor of London to-day drove in state to Buckingham Palace and presented to the Duke- of Gloucester and Lady Alice Montague-Doug-las-Scott wedding gifts from the City of London. He was accompanied by the sheriffs and members of the corporation.
Sir Stephen Killik (Alderman of the City) presented an address of congratulation and the gifts. The Duke thanked the Lord Mayor on behalf of Lady Alice and himself.
The Duke and Lady Alice also received deputations from the Royal Borough of Kensington and the City of Westminister.
NAVY’S GIFT OF ANTIQUE CHAIRS
LONDON, October 29.
The Royal Navy’s wedding gift to the Duke of Gloucester and Lady Alice Montague-Douglas-Scott, in which the Royal Australian Navy and the New Zealand division of the Royal Navy are associated, was presented at Buckingham Palace. It was 12 Chippendale dining chairs, dated 1760.
