RECOMMENDATIONS APPROVED.

CONSIDERATION 'AT GENEVA

■ f GENEVA, October 20. The complete Sanctions Coommittee of *52 Powers has approved the folloAVing recommendations in Mr R. A. Eden’s plan:—

(1) The proposal for a general boycott of Italy. (2) An embargo by 'League members on exports of key products to Italy. (3) Mutual economic protection.

The Committee of Eighteen discussed the recommendations by the Mutual Assistance Sub-Committee, including the reduction by League States o imports from non-League States pioportionately to the latter’s taking advantage of the. cessation of the League States trade to Italy. Mr It. A. Eden and other delegates supported these, but the committee decided to drop any reference to nonLeague States.. M. Titulescu (Creece), urged penalisation of Austria ancl Hungary for refusal to take part in sanctions. The committee adopted the report, forbidding Austria and Hungary profiteering as the result of sanctions. Efforts will be to offset others’ loss of Italian markets by mutual economic and financial assistance.
