ANDRESEN BEATS CATALINA.

DUNEDIN, October 8

Andresen beat Catalina by two falls to one in the Town Hall, to-night before a moderate attendance, Catalina took the first • fall in the sixth round, catching Andresen from behind after being trapped in a series of headlocks and bringing him to the mat to complete a fall with a body press. Catalina opened the next round with a series of arm swings which connected with the back of the Swede’s neck and the referee disqualified him for rabbit punching. The final round had not been long in' progress when Andresen secured his favourite leg Nelson, and Catalina submitted in a hurry.

THE ASHBURTON ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the Ashburton Wrestling Association was held in the secretary’s office last evening, the president (Mr J, B. Cullen) presiding. The match committee reported that it had secured a match for next Tuesday night between Glen Wade and Tony Catalino, and the committee's action was endorsed. A balance-sheet of the last contest was submitted, and was considered to be satisfactory. 1 Correspondence, was received from Earl McCready and Leon Labriola thanking the association for kindliesses shown them during their stay in Ashburton.

It was decided to again match local boys for the preliminaries for next Tuesday’s contest.
