WRESTLING.
BLOMFIELD BEATS JAGAT SINGH NEW PLYMOUTH, October 6. Lofty Blomfield beat Jagat Singh by two falls to one in the most colourful match seen at New Plymouth for some
time. Held in severe sbortarm scissors in the third round, Blomfield, after several attempts, gained the first fall by rising to his feet and pressing Singh, who was in a hunched position, to- the mat. Jagat equalised in the fifth round with his deathlock. Blomfield won in the seventh round when, after throwing him to the mat with a series of flying headlocks, Jagat secured a crotch hold., and was about to dump Blomfield when he manoeuvred in the air and overbalanced Jagat in such a way that Blomfield landed on top of him to secure a fall with a wristlock and body press. LURICH DEFEATS WOODS. SYDNEY, October 6. In a torrid wrestling contest at the Leichhardt Stadium last night, Tom Lurich defeated Johnnie Woods by two falls to one.
