MILITARY TRAINING

POSITION IN THE; DOMINION.

NO INCREASE IN INTEREST. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, October 4. The interest that has been taken in the Italio-Ethiopian dispute during recent weeks has not had the effect of increasing interest in military training in New Zealand. Inquiries made today showed that there has not been an increase in applications for places in the volunteers. A few applications for places in any force that might become engaged overseas have been received, but these are not regarded seriously, having come from very youthful persons or practical jokers. It was stated this morning that in comparison with the Turkish scare there has been no interest taken in the present dispute.
