ALLEGED FRAUD

MOTHER AND SON CHARGED. AUCKLAND, October 1. The movements of a mother and her son in cashing cheques to a total amount of £4550 and in booking passages for. Sydney were described in the Police Court this morning, when the hearing of charges of fraud against Paul Edward Diiw_ or Dean', aged 23, and Madeline Elizabeth Dili, or Dean, aged 44, was continued. Evidence that the male accused purchased a ticket for Sydney on July 26 was given by Edgar Clyde. Witness remembered “Mrs Brown” purchasing a ticket for the same steamer, saying that she was a sister of the male accused. The hearing was adjourned.
