It is too early to expect good form amorig track and field athletes —the season will not he under way for some time; hut there v?ere two performances of outstanding promise on Saturday, at the University Club’s spring handicap meeting on the Christ’s College cricket ground. The first was V. P. Boot’s half-mile in 2min 4sec, and the other M. V. Blake’s winning pole vault of 10ft 2in. These figures would he quite good at any stage of the season, hut for September they must be considered remarkable.
