RULING DISPUTED

ELECTION OF DIRECTORS.

MOTOR UNION INSURANCE COMPANY. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, September 26. At the adjourned general meeting of the North Island Motor Union Insurance Company to-day, the poll for the two vacant directorships resulted: Dr. E. E. Porritt 543 B. T. Donne 451 (Elected.) E. A. Batt 443 A long discussion arose over tho validity of approximately 100 proxy votes, understood to he for Mr Donne, from New Plymouth. The chairman declared Dr. Porritt and Mr Donne elected, hut a motion was adopted disregarding the ruling of the chairman. A motion was then passed for the directors, to investigate the question of proxy votes within three months, and to take legal opinion. It is understood that a special general meeting will be convened 1 to consider the report of this investigation.
