CHARGE DISMISSED
ISSUING VALUELESS CHEQUES.
COMMENT FROM THE BENCH.
United Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.25 p.m.) LONDON, September 25.
Lady Esther Makgill was acquitted of the charge of passing valueless cheques. The Common Sergeant, summing up, said: “It is not criminal to be reckless, foolish and stupid. You may think that such is the snobbery of the age, that people like to have titled customers on their books and that some hanks allow a person like Lady Makgill to deal with her account in a manner not permitted to others.”
