FRAUD ALLEGED
RACECOURSE TRANSACTIONS.
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, September 25. Police allegations against Marcus Jackson, aged 38, a salesman, in the Magistrate’s Court to-day, involved a charge of obtaining a large sum of money from a clerk, already serving a term of imprisonment for theft from his employers, by posing as a jockey, and persuading him to give the money for racecourse transactions. Jackson pleaded not guilty, and was committed to the Supreme Court tor trial, bail being renewed.
